Orange
County Community College
My first project as a professional, Orange County Community College provided challenges that I had not experienced in my collegiate career. The proposed Kaplan Hall was designed by JMZ Architects and the LA Group was responsible for site work. Originally designed with an above ground parking structure, the concept was changed to incorporate a student Quad that supplied expansive views to the Hudson River.
The new three-story building houses classrooms and science laboratories, as well as a two-story library, a one-stop center for all student services, a cybercafé where students can mingle, and office space for faculty members and administrators. Kaplan Hall is also registered with the U.S. Green Building Council and includes many environmentally friendly features both internally and externally.
Project Involvement: Completed plan renderings for initial design and final design, completed 3D site renderings for submission to client. Architectural models were created by JMZ architects
