Mercer County Community College

Mercer County Community College chose Clarke Caton Hintz (CCH) to complete a 20 year Campus Master Plan for their main campus. They are also the architect on record for improvements, additions, and new construction for the main campus and additional satellite campuses located in Trenton, New Jersey. Mainly a commuter campus, the main focus of the master plan was to reinforce the pedestrian spine to connect parking areas to the main campus while providing no more than a five minute walk from parking areas to classrooms; an average distance of 1,200 feet.
The James Kerney Campus Extension located in Downtown Trenton called for an additional master plan to expand into existing adjacent vacant buildings. These structures would be programmed by the architecture department of CCH and be rehabilitated, then absorbed into the satellite campus.
